Mens Wellbeing
About Us
Mens Wellbeing is an incorporated, not-for-profit association that strives to serve the mental, emotional, physical and spiritual wellbeing of men. We focus on developing the wellbeing of men to foster healthy relationships, families and communities. As a community, we provide innovative nationwide experiential programs that enable men to support men through groups, gatherings and online resources.
We create opportunities for men to reacquaint themselves with their essentially masculine nature, and to express what they find in a safe and non-judgemental environment. Mens Wellbeing does not prescribe a formulae for what it means to be a man, but rather encourages the open exploration of a new kind of masculinity that is required for modern men to meet the demands of 21st century relationships, modern parenting, ever-expanding work demands and the call to contribute at the community and social levels. In the face of this overwhelming complexity, men need each other more than ever.
Our experience tells us that by hearing the stories of other men, we often discover that we share common questions and common perspectives, even as we navigate our unique and highly individual journeys. We come away from our encounters with other men enriched by the experience, enjoying a deeper clarity within ourselves about who we really are beneath the hustle and chaos of modern life.
Find Your Common Ground
 |
Common Ground is a simple, effective way for men to explore amongst ourselves the issues common to all men. We explore masculinity, relationships, fathering, sex and intimacy, and more. |
If you always do what you've always done, you will always get what you have always got. Isn't it time for a change!
New Programs commencing soon in the Bundaberg area.
Men supporting Men
"Most men don't have a life. Instead we have learned to pretend. Much of what men do is an outer show, kept up for protection. Like a tiger raised in a zoo - confused and numb, with huge energies untapped. He feels there must be more, but does not know what more is." ~ Steve Biddulph, Australian Author of 'Manhood'
Common Ground facilitated groups are an 9 week 'Life Skills for Men' program that has proven to deliver exceptional results. The groups are open to all men and in addition to improving their lives, the flow on effect directly benefits the women and children in our community.
Why a Men's Group?
 |
There are profound benefits when men have the space and time to discuss the things that matter with other men. Common Ground groups provide a safe non-confronting atmosphere that supports your personal growth and raises awareness. It's about building something new on the inside, from an authentic masculine perspective.
Individuals and community organisations often ask us about men's groups and it's clear there is a genuine shortage of facilities and opportunities for men. Common Ground offers one of the few opportunities for men to gain new perspectives on issues, and on life with other caring and informed men. |
